One of the most invasive species of insect that we fight is the fire ant. Fire ants are found throughout the lower half of the United States – from Maryland to Florida and from North Carolina to Nevada. Fire ants are presently found in 21 states and territories, including Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
Fire ants spread by queens leaving their colony to lay eggs and build a new colony of their own. Fire ant queens can fly up to 10 miles before finding a place to settle!
